When kids type "What is dyslexia?" into Google, they typically find at the top of their search results a definition that was written in the 1970’s. This definition describes dyslexia as a “disability” and “a lifelong learning disorder” a narrow, outdated definition that fails to take into account that dyslexic thinkers excel in skills like lateral thinking and creative problem solving amongst many other strengths.
In order to provide a more balanced view of Dyslexia at the top of search results, we hijacked Google’s algorithm. By creating a film with the same title as the Google query, we created a knowledge panel and jumped to the top of the Page Rank. That way, kids could discover a more accurate, more optimistic view of dyslexia in their critical moment of discovery just by watching our film at the top of the page.
